The third day of the Extraordinary Chapter of the FIC Brothers opened with a prayer led by the Indonesia Province. The theme of the prayer, “Servant Leadership in the spirit of the Founders”, prompted the brothers to reflect on the readings about the virtues of humility, good example, love for the brothers, and steadfastness. They were invited to listen to the internal voice speaking through the narrative of these virtues and the expectations for the Extraordinary General Chapter. 

During the morning session, the moderator invited the brothers to spend the day in personal reflection, as a chapter is not only an administrative gathering but also a time to listen to one another and discern the voice of the Spirit.

We also had the opportunity to listen to the General Councillors' sharing of their experiences from the time of Bro Augustine Kubdaar's illness until his death and the preparation of the Extraordinary General Chapter. Even though they felt a sense of loss at his passing, they were confident in their gifts to carry out the Congregation's leadership assignment.

The afternoon was dedicated to silence for personal prayer for the election of the General Superior and for the Congregation itself, in this special time of an extraordinary chapter to find a new General Superior.

At the end of the day, the brothers celebrated the Eucharist, followed by the supper, as usual, but they didn't end the day with recreation in order to respect the time for silence and to give proper space to the work of the Spirit, viewing the election that would take place the next day.
