CHRISTMAS GATHERING – MALAWI PROVINCE (Bro. Gasper Kalisto FIC).

On 25th December 2020, brothers gathered at Mzedi Formation House for a double celebration of Christmas and the birthday of Bro. Thomas Edson. It has been a while since we had a gathering together as a Province due to the rapid spreading of COVID-19 pandemic. We shared the joyful moment together with the families of Heads of our two institutions in Mzedi: St. Patrick’s Boys Secondary School and St. Louis Community Day Secondary School.

During the time of information, the Provincial Superior informed us of the plans of the Provincial Council for 2021. He officially announced that the 2021 allocation for the province has not changed as last year. He, therefore, encouraged all the brothers in the province to be moderate in the use of finances. He also officially informed the brothers about the purchasing of land in Lilongwe Archdiocese.

He, then, informed the brothers officially of Bro. Nkonde’s trip to Ghana on 8th January 2021 for studies at Wa Technical University; and that our three candidates are expected to start their formation program in Ghana. They are yet to depart on 14th January 2021. They will spend two years for pre-novitiate and canonical novitiate there, and will continue with the apostolic year here in Malawi.

The Provincial Superior also announced that the province has appointed Bros. Mike Mbato, Moses Mgunda and Gasper Kalisto to start publishing the Shalom magazine of the province which has been dormant for a while now. We wish them success in this apostolate.
