FUNERAL MASS FOR LATE BR. WIM LUITEN AND DICK VAN DER GEEST IN GHANA PROVINCE OF THE FIC ON SATURDAY 16^TH NOVEMBER, 2024 

AT THE PROVINCIAL HOUSE, WA

The Provincial Council of Ghana organized a Memorial Mass for Br. Wim Luiten and Mr. Dick van der Geest who both lived and worked in Ghana for the people of God until the repatriation of Br. Wim to his home province in 2002 and the unexpected passing of Mr. Dick van der Geest on 12^thNovember, 2024. Though Dick left the congregation in 2006, he stayed and worked in Ghana until recently when he went to the Netherlands for his routine medical checkup and did not return.

The Mass which was presided over by Rev. Fr. Nicodemus Uunizume started at 5:00GMT and ended at exactly 6:07pm. In attendance were brothers from St. Louis Community, Kaleo Community, Provincial House, our collaborators, Management and staff of Producer Enterprises Promotion Services Centre (PEPS-C, the brain child of Br. Wim), Diligence Consult, A&Q Consortium. Others were the sisters of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, and the numerous friends of Br. Wim.

The Mass was solemn and the expressions depicted that Wim was a true Brother, noted for fixing things in the community, simple, pleasant, and loving. Both Wim and Dick loved Ghana till the end of their lives on earth. We will forever, miss you. Farewell Br. Wim and Mr. Geest!
