Dear Brothers,

It is our sad duty to inform you about the passing away of Bro. Gracious Sangber-Dery, who died on December 25th, 2023 in Ghana:

BROTHER GRACIOUS SANGBER-DERY FIC

He was born on April 17, 1955 in Domangye, Ghana.

He made his first profession of religious vows in our Congregation on January 10, 1981 and his final profession on November 25, 1989.

After a sudden and short heart related illness, at the age of 68 years, he passed away on December 25, 2023 at St. Theresa’s Hospital - Nandom, Ghana.

His funeral and burial arrangements have been scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 20, 2024 in St. Louis Community - Wa.

He was a gifted person in diverse ways. He had thirst for deeper understanding of issues. His probing nature sought for answers to clear his doubts through questioning and research. He was generous, caring and supportive, both in giving and receiving. His life was marked by simplicity, humility and prudence in his dealing with others, though with high expectations in achieving targets.

In his retirement, he easily blended with as well as had fun with young brothers. He had great sense of value for things and cared for them. He was a hard working fellow and committed to the demands of his religious calling. A true teacher and a development worker who gave his all to uplift others. He served the Congregation and the local Church wholeheartedly in many different capacities. In most of the communities he lived, he served as local superior, rendering service marked by care and love for his fellow Brothers.

We continue to pray for the peaceful repose of his gentle soul in the hands of his creator.
