FIRST PHASE OF THE PROVINCIAL CHAPTER 2018;

18^TH TO 24^TH FEBRUARY, 2018

REPORT ON DAY Two, 20^TH FEBRUARY, 2018

Tuesday, 20th February, 2018 marks the second day of the phase one of the Provincial Chapter 2018, Ghana Province. The day was very bright, sunny and hot.  Proceedings began at 8.30am with prayer led by Bro. Alpitio Kog.  Two delegates namely Bros. Joachim Naah and Godwin Kuuireme were absent because they were called to Accra to attend to some issues at GES Headquarters.

The first activity carried out by delegates was group presentation of the joys, worries and challenges in our communities and in Province at large.  Representatives from the three groups took turns to present the joys and worries emanating from the group discussions held the previous day, 19^th February 2018.  With regard to the joys, all of the three groups upheld that there is peace and unity among brothers in the Province. Another joyful experience worth mentioning is that there is growing sense of solidarity among brothers in the Province.

On the other hand, delegates among other things expressed worry about dwindling vocations in recent times and that the attention given to initial formation in the Province is currently inadequate. After the group presentations, delegates took turns to ask clarifying questions on pertinent issues.  The enthusiasm, the attention and the involvement of delegates in the discussion was commendable.

The next activity was presentation of the Provincial Council’s Report.  The Provincial Superior (Bro Seregeous Dery) presented the Provincial Council’s report for the period 24^th November, 2012 to 31^st December, 2017 on behalf of the Provincial Council.  The report among other things highlighted the statistics of the province, joys and challenges of the PC and the extent to which the PC implemented the 2012 Chapter Resolutions. Delegates were asked to discuss the report in their respective groups on Wednesday 21^st February 2018.

The day’s proceedings ended with a Eucharistic celebration at 6.00pm.
