PREFACE

As we had not yet a history of our Congregation in English at our disposal up to now, we were asked more than once if such a history could not be written.

The brothers who don't speak Dutch would also be able to get acquainted with the origin and the further growth of our congregation.

As a consequence we now publish a first small volume, covering the period from 1840 until 1910.

It has become a short history but in our opinion extensive enough to make the first acquaintance of the ideals of both our founders and of all those who followed them in the Congregation.
