REPORT FIC SPIRITUAL JOURNEY SATURDAY, 9TH SEPTEMBER 2017 The facilitators and participants of the Brothers FIC Spiritual Journey 2017 ended the third week of the encounter with a recollection on the theme: THE LOVE OF CHRIST led by one of the facilitators, Bro. Theodorus Suwaryanto. He developed the theme from the main theme for the third week: LIVING IN GOD’S LOVE to prepare participants to recall, recapitulate, reflect, remember, meditate on and deepen all what we received in the third week. After the introduction, participants spent the rest of the time reflecting and meditating on the topics we dealt with in the third week: Spirituality of imperfection; Letting go-letting be-letting grow, Messianic creativity, Brotherly communion in the spirit of our Founders; Bearing God’s Spirit in our Apostolate (Brothers FIC Mission) and In the Spirit of Mary. Participants reconvened in the chapel at twelve noon for a prayer service on the theme: JESUS LOVES ME led by our able facilitator, Bro. Theodorus Suwaryanto. In his reflection he said, “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Before we were born, God sent His only Son, Jesus to die on our behalf to give us the opportunity for eternal life. This amazing gift comes to us because of His wonderful grace toward us: it is through grace you have been saved, through faith –and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2: 8-9).The recollection ended with lunch at 12.30pm. It was a precious time to have this half-day for a recollection. The afternoon was free and some of us filled the time by taking a walk around the city of Maastricht. Others enjoyed the afternoon by having a sight-seeing around the centre while the rest just stayed inside the Sisters' convent. Some of the participants attended English Mass in the chapel of Mary, Star of the Sea Basilica. Recorded by Bro. Fabian P. Kuupille (Brothers FIC, Ghana) |
