OASIS 2014-2015.
COUNTING MY BLESSINGS.
''The act of counting one's blessings simply means gratitude''.
I would like to share with you the fruits that I got in this special journey. I’m grateful to God for the wonderful experiences encountered during the Spiritual journey 2014.
Firstly the journey has opened my eyes to deeply understand who I am. Am now able to know both my strengths and weakness as a person and a religious Brother in the Roman Catholic Church. This deeper self knowledge is important aspect in holistic growth as a human being. Life has got its ups and downs, all these are essential to ones life. When am happy and things go well for me I thank God. But I also thank God when things go the other way round. I understand the need to be close to God in all circumstance of life.
Also the journey has challenged me to be a more focused person. I am now on right track in setting goals and mission statement in life and making effort in put words into action. Currently am working hard in my studies in order to upgrade my Secondary School Certificate.
This is one of the goals I wish to accomplish by Gods grace. I also continue developing my social and spiritual life among others by; regular Spiritual direction, annual retreats, personal prayers, studying, sports.
Furthermore, the Oasis and other stages of the Spiritual journey have encouraged me to be a more loving person. On the journey, I experienced brotherhood and enjoyed love and support from the beginning to the end from all the brothers, animator at the Provincial but also the Congregation level. This was an encouragement for me to also be a more loving person and supportive to other people.
Lastly I am richly blessed by the spiritual journey through visiting Historical places of our Congregation in Holland. This was a great experience in my life. I felt being touched by the spirit of Brother Bernardus and Msg Louis Lutten in both congregational walk and pilgrimage to Marian Shrine. Thanks to God and our Congregation for allowing me to feel the touch of God through participation in this important exercise of SPIRITUAL JOURNEY TO SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT. I encourage other brothers to participate in another journey when organised.
