Workshop for Provincial Treasurers FIC, Friday, 6 June, 2014.

We started day with opening prayer-service. The theme of the prayer was Our poverty is loving solidarity, sharing and charity.

We reflected at the light of the Message of Francis´ Pope to the participants in the International Symposium on "The management of church property of the Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life in the service of humanity and the mission of the Church." the 8 March 2014.

The topic of the morning sessions was the study of the “FIC Finance &Administration Manual”. Bro. Theodorus Suwaryanto made a brief introduction to the document. He informed participants that the new financial system is based on “giving what we have” and no longer on “giving according to wishes”. The congregational policy is that the Congregation will try as much as possible to live within the income of the congregation investments and not to go into of   the capital. Finally Bro. Theo invited us to review the Finance & Administration Manual paying particular attention at the three important aspects:

1. The administrative procedures of reporting and giving feed-back (Provincial Council/Provincial Treasurers to General Council/ General Treasurer).
2. The role, task and functioning of the General Treasurer and Provincial Treasurers.
3. Revising the allocation system (in the sense that the annual allocations are also based on needs of provinces), including the allocation/figure of the gift policy.

We worked in two groups: A) Ghana, Chile and The Netherland; and B) Malawi and Indonesia.

At the end of the morning we had a plenary session where each group reported their remarks and suggestions.

The afternoon session was mend to practice the EXACT program to be familiar to it.

The whole day weather was very good with blue sky and bright sun shine. We enjoyed the day very much.
