A WORD FROM THE GENERAL SUPERIOR.

Good evening to all of you, my dear friends and fellow brothers. I would like to appreciate the presence of our coworkers, their partners, and the members of the Board of the Religious House. I acknowledge the attendance of members of the General Treasury: Bros. Remy, Lo. I also recognize the presence of Claudia, Bro. Johan and you, my fellow GC members. I extend a warm greeting and welcome to Mr. & Mrs Leny Last-Ubachs, their two daughters and their sons-inlaws. Friends and fellow Brothers, this special evening get-together is a tribute of thanks to Leny as a gift to humanity and, particularly, to the Brothers FIC.

For the past 32 years, Leny has worked as the Assistant Secretary in the Brothers FIC General Council office. In September this year, she attained retirement age (67) according to the laws of the Netherlands. The GC made a passionate plea that she continues working until the 12th of December 2022, when she resigned lastly.

I am unable to recall when, where, or how I first became acquainted with Leny; nevertheless, after having collaborated with her for the past four years, I can declare, without a shadow of a doubt, that Leny possesses an admirable personality and is indeed a great blessing to all of us. Her humility and sensitivity toward others' feelings and needs are among the aspects of her character I admire the most. Leny has worked diligently and devotedly for us throughout this time. We have started missing Leny's presence in the office already. Her work ethic and who Leny has become to us in all these years will remain a lasting legacy in our memories.

Dear Friends, this get-together demonstrates our gratitude for "what" and "who" Leny has done become to us. Thank You, Leny! I thank her husband and daughters, who offered her the space and supported her to serve God and the Brothers. May this celebration and its experience deepen our gratitude to God, Leny, and her family. Dear Leny, I thank you so much on behalf of all the Brothers and coworkers of the FIC congregation.

Leny, you will forever be in our thoughts and hearts. Also, be rest assured of our continuous prayers for you and your family. We wish you the much-needed rest that you deserve. May the God you serve with such unwavering devotion keep you safe, bless you abundantly, and give you a long and fulfilling life. Thank you!
