Report Day 9, General Conference 2015, Wa-Ghana.

Report Day 9, General Conference at Wa - Ghana 2015, 9th November.
The 9th day of the General Conference started after a restful weekend. The Morning Prayer was prepared by the Ghana Province with the theme of the prayer service on one of the topics to be discussed today: “F.I.C. Journey to Spiritual Enrichment”.
The first topic of the day was about the proposed reflective document on our Constitutions. This is a General Chapter resolution from 2012 and suggested by the formators’ meeting in Malawi 2011.
A committee was formed with one member of the five provinces and members of the General Council they held a preparatory meeting in Indonesia in 2014.
Each member was asked to work on a chapter of the Constitutions. We were presented with the first results and were asked to give our comments and suggestions. All present expressed their appreciation with the thorough job done so far as a serious start to compose a reflective document mainly to be used by the formators and partly by the formees.  The main suggestion was to avoid making it a massive work to be handled and try to restrict the number of pages of the book.
The topic next in the morning session was about suggestions of updating the Congregational Statutes. The statutes which are more than 20 years in use may need some adaptations to fit the needs of this time. This was a very businesslike yes or no discussion to the suggestions made.
The afternoon session was used for the topic:  “F.I.C. Journey to Spiritual Enrichment”. This was about the set up of the whole program, evaluation of the last “Oasis” stage and the follow up program in the different Provinces. We were all of the opinion that the program is worth the efforts the General Council and the committee put into this.  The success of this program depends very much on the seriousness of each participant and how he goes about it. Also, the preparedness of the participant to share his experiences with his community and fellow participants in the respective provinces was critical.
We closed our day with a Eucharistic celebration with the community of St Louis.
