General Chapter Report Day Six

Today Saturday 10^th August, 2024, was indicated as a free day, on the first weeks’   program, except that the participants had a Prayer service together at 08:00 in the morning, prepared and led by the Religious House Netherlands, under the theme Wisdom and Knowledge.

The readings were reflectively chosen from the Book of Wisdom, Solomon’s Prayer of Wisdom, and The Rules of Conduct for Superiors,  Wisdom and Knowledge, and Confidence, according delegates the opportunity to reflect on the leadership of our Founders. 

The readings focused on the role of leadership in a religious community, and what is expected of those who will be elected into the leadership positions of the congregation. The brothers took some time to reflect individually on the question: How do I exercise the leadership responsibility God has entrusted me with? . My reflection and probably for others too, is that, the wisdom and guidance of God must be our light in all we set to accomplish. 

The rest of the day allowed the participants to carry out their individual assignments.  The delegates decided to celebrate Sunday mass in the evening of today, instead of tomorrow. This Sunday liturgy concluded the day’s activities. We still came together for our usual evening meal and recreation.
