Dear Brothers,

It is our sad duty to inform you about the passing away of Bro. Roland Heeren on April 8, 2020.

The text of the mourning card reads as follows:

BRO. ROLAND THEODORUS HEEREN FIC

He was born on November 27, 1934 in Helmond.

On August 15, 1956, he made his vows in the FIC Congregation.

He passed away on April 8, 2020 in the rehabilitation center of UMCM+ in Maastricht.

We will continue to remember Bro. Roland in our own circle as a helpful, sometimes very witty and faithful fellow brother. In his family circle he remained a good brother and uncle until the end.

Following his father, Roland was an excellent teacher. He practiced this profession in Nijmegen, Rotterdam, Heerlen, Weert and Helmond. He was an enthusiastic football coach and coach at youth school camps in various places.

After his retirement, he was cook in Rotterdam, but rightly he became famous for his hobby as a potter. He gave a short course for children in 'clay' in numerous places and delighted many with his art products.

In Roland, we lose a devoted fellow brother who stayed true to his mission to be "brother to all". It must therefore have been painful for him that he suffered severe deafness in his last years of life, which prevented good communication. May he receive his deserved eternal rest after a blessed life.

The funeral service of Bro. Roland Heeren will be held on Tuesday afternoon April 14, 2020 

in the chapel of De Beyart. Due to the limitations in connection with the coronacrisis, this will be done in private circle. Inhabitants of De Beyart can follow the service at the television. Afterwards he will be buried in the midst of his fellow-brothers at the FIC cemetery near the Anjoulaan in Maastricht.
