I would like to share with you the joy and inspirations that I have experienced during the OASIS on Monday and Tuesday 1st and 2nd December. The almighty God is really doing wonders in my life. After our joyous weekend, 'the OASIS participants' at Efteling amusement park, came another beautiful prayerwork days at the OASIS.
The days begun with Eucharistic mass then prayer service followed by breakfast. As usual, the sessions started at 9:00am .
The theme for the days was "Letting Go." "Letting Be" and “Letting Grow”. Bro. Johan gave a very beautiful and touching in-put about the importance of these phenomenons as we pass through different moments in our life.
"Our Christian and vocation life need to grow and be deeply rooted in order to bear good fruits." He said, "But this can not happen unless we learn to accept to let go certain thing in our life, and let the situation be so that ourselves and others may grow in love". Different situations we encounter daily in life are ment to teach us lessons and increase our awareness and love of God.
Both Sad and pleasant moments are very very important. God speaks to us through these moments.
The story about Moses's encounter with God at the burning bush while feeding his father in-law sheep, the experience about painful ending of Abraham to leave his country and kindred to an unknown country when he was 75 years old ; Jesus being condemned by Pilate are good examples to us.
Abraham was not sure about his safety, destiny and did not mind his old age etc, but he left his country ; let go his wealth, beautful country and go to the promised land. Moses also let go his fear to be killed by the Israelites and go for a mission to deliver his fellow Israelites from slavery in Egypt. Jesus Christ equally let go his glory; suffered the punishment and humiliation by the Romans to let things be. This was to earn the salvation of mankind.
After letting go and letting be things we too will surely grow in love and be a blessing to the congregation and the entire world.
