Day 8 report General Conference 2015, Wa-Ghana.

Day 8 report. Sunday 8 November 2015. General Conference 2015, Wa-Ghana.
All participants of the General Conference attended children Mass  (Children of St. Louis School in Wa)  at the chapel of ISTC (In Service Training Centre). The Mass was conducted in English. In the beginning of the Mass, the Superior of Ghana province introduced all participants. It is a custom in Ghana that during the Mass in parish or smaller Church visitors usually acknowledged and asked to introduce him/herself/themselves to the Congregation. It is to emphasize that our Catholic Church is a Church without boundaries, it is a church for everybody. It is also to make us more aware the unity of the church all over the world.
The children put on uniforms white shirts and white trousers for boys, white dresses for girls. It was a lively mass. Keyboard, tamborines, shakers and drum, made up a very good combination of musical instruments that match with the song. Added with clap hands and a bit body movement, create a lively song that expresses the religious values and faith. This is a kind of free expression in liturgy in which all participants take part actively . Example: 1. during the sermon, the priest asked pupils to describe who were poor people. It was a lot of pupils raised up their hands to answer the question. 2. During prayer of intercession pupils went to the altar and said different prayer intercession. 3. After the mass, a pupils read the announcement, etc.
Afternoon was a free time, everybody made his own programme. However there was a “Chodrafest 2015” performed in the Cathedral. It was a festival of music and drama by Pax Romana students of UDS University of Development Studies in Wa. Theme: Preaching the Gospel through Music and Drama. Five brothers (Martin Dariyo, Martin Handoko, Agustinus Giwal S., Henry Anthony, and Wim Luiten) attended that festival.
In the evening we had our own personal prayer at the chapel of St. Louis community followed by our supper. Since we had no internet connection for the whole day we were not able to upload our pictures and our report of the day. We hope that today we are able to get internet connection so we can connect to the brothers and people outside via e-mail and Facebook.
Bro. Martinus Dariyo.
