Dear Brothers,

It is our sad duty to inform you about the passing away of our associated member Mrs. Ans van der Geest on September 21, 2020.

The text of the mourning card reads as follows:

"     Congregation of the Brothers of the Immaculate Conception of Mary

                 how I was when I could still do everything.'

Sad but grateful for all what she has meant to us, we have to say goodbye to our dear sister (in law) and associated member of FIC.

Ans was born on May 26, 1929 in Amsterdam.

On May 5, 1991, she became an associated member of the Brothers FIC.

She returned to her Heavenly Father on September 21, 2020 in the residential care center De Beyart in Maastricht.

For more than 90 years, Ans shared her life with the fellow human beings she met on her path: as an akela among the youth in her parish, as a member of the choir, as a devoted help and support for her mother and as a loyal associated member of the Brothers, with whom she felt so involved. She went through life thoughtfully, cordially and calmly. In her last years it was difficult for her to relinquish control over her actions. In gratitude for everything that came her way, she left us.

We bid farewell to Ans in private in the Eucharistic celebration on Friday, September 25, 2020 in the chapel of De Beyart. After the celebration, she will be buried at the cemetery of the Brothers near the Anjoulaan in Maastricht.
