MEMORIAL MASS OF LATE BRO. HENK MUNNICH AND BRO. THOMAS EDISON

“A valuable tradition in the congregation is the willingness to help build a more human world outside one’s own native country. Many brothers leave their own and their own culture to spread the Good News in word and deed in other countries, and give form to the Kingdom of God.” (Cf. FIC Constitutions Article 19). As missionaries Bro. Henk Munnich and Bro. Thomas Edison came to Malawi to share their talents and Good News of Christ to the people here. The news of their demise has left sadness of the faces of the people who knew or worked with them.

As Brothers FIC Malawi, we had a solemn mass to honour and remember the life of these two remarkable brothers who touched the hearts and lives of those fortunate enough to have known them. The mass was led by Archbishop Thomas Luke Msusa – of Blantyre Archdiocese – on 6^th June 2023 at Mzedi Parish. In the eulogies of the Archbishop Msusa, the Brothers, Mzedi Parish Priest and representatives of ex-workers of Montfort Press praised and reflected upon the profound impact that these brothers had in our lives and the legacy they have left behind. Their presence illuminated every room they entered, and their availability had the power to brighten the darkest of days. Their genuine warmth and generosity touched the lives of countless individuals, and their memory will forever be cherished. We pray that their souls rest in eternal peace.
