ENTRY INTO FIRST AND SECOND YEAR NOVITIATE IN MALAWI Malawi province as per tradition, used to have the transition on above mentioned ceremony every year on 8th of September. It is also the day that the church cerebrates the birthday of Blessed Virgin Mary, who is the patroness of our congregation. So the day is very important in our congregation. The ceremony involves two importance activities that are more valuable in religious life during initial formation period. We had the group of those who were entering the canonical year of novitiate and another group for apostolic year of novitiate (second year). Two young men Peter Samuel and Lucius Potiphar were accepted by the provincial council to continue their journey of formation as first year novices. The two young men are the survivors of the fittest since they were five (5) from the beginning but three quit. We thank God for allowing these two young men to continue their journey with Brothers FIC - Malawi province in particular. In the same line three young men namely, Joe Muliya, Gasper Kalisto and Daniel Kanyada moved a step ahead on the same day. These young men have been in the formation house for two years and they have completed the canonical year and moved to apostolic year. The Eucharistic liturgy was celebrated by Rev. Father Alfred Nsope, Parish Priest of Mzedi parish. The function was attended by different people apart from brothers and a sister of Carmelite order. There were the head teachers from our schools at Mzedi (St. Louis Community Day Secondary School St. Patrick’s Secondary School and Mzedi primary school) and their wives, the deputy Head teacher of St Louis and St. Patrick’s secondary school. Women from the villages around Mzedi and some youth from Mzedi Parish were also in attendance on this day. After the occasion Brother Thomas Edison asked the people gathered to go for supper together since it was already evening. We thank God the almighty for giving us such a gift of 5 young men who are showing interest to join brotherhood in our beloved congregation of the Brothers of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary (FIC). May God continue to bless FIC congregation.
