INSPIRATION THEME; COMMUNITY AND PRAYER, THE SOUL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE INDIVIDUAL BROTHER THEME; COMMUNITY AND PRAYER, THE SOUL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE INDIVIDUAL BROTHER Community Living as we individually and collectively reflecting on in our daily encounters with the Lord, is more than a means to carry out our mission. From our humble self-Constitution Act. 35. It states; “This is my commandment, that you love one another” Together, as brothers, we try to fulfil this mission of Christ. His Good News of the coming of the kingdom “of righteousness, peace and joy” we make our own message. We individually and as a community, do experience the presence of the Risen Lord in our fraternal communion in diverse ways. As it stands clearly to us all, fraternal communion comes about by means of mutual love of all the members of the community. It is very paramount as brothers to develop a positive concept of our communities for the right atmosphere to prevail for the dwelling of the Holy Spirit to help transform and mold us as instruments in propagating the faith. As a Home or a Community, there are many simple and very ordinary things that are very useful in keeping the community united and in building up participation and the fraternal Spirit. These are; Community Prayer, meals, recreation, celebrations, apostolate, meetings, community project, recollection, evaluation and many more. The attention and seriousness attached to these happenings in the community by each member, inspires us to ever on the alert to ensuring pruning of our community living which reflect what we go out to do with our collaborators. Hence the spirit of brotherhood and divine union which bounded the early community should reign in our midst, cheer our hearts and make security shine on our faces. With the revealing posture made to you now, I can state with all confidence and without reservation, that Bernadus community is indeed a community of prayer. This is very evident in all that we do as a community. We are very much aware that the life of faith and communion is born of listening to the word of God. By far, this spiritual enrichment is expressed and strengthened in liturgical and communitarian prayer in our daily lives. Tapping of spiritual enrichment from the social media cannot be over emphasized. In all this the Eucharist is the pinnacle of communion with God and Mankind. The early Christians have set the paste and had it handed down from one generation to the next and in our time. The community of believers were assiduous in the breaking of the bread and in prayer. The intense prayer life has sustained the community in the communion of goods and in our apostolic endeavors. The unity of the members of a religious community cannot be built up except in Christ. In a nutshell, as it stand now, when prayer is getting deeply rooted per our life style, so fraternal communion also gaining new dimensions in uniting us as a community. Love that is united in prayer is the essential component in Bernadus Community. |
