To the Brothers of Indonesia Province

Words of Condolence: Bro. Yohanes Budisuyanta

In less than a week after the painful departure of Bro. Salvinus Rohmad Supani, we are again s tr uc k b y another equally unexpected tragedy - the passing of Bro. Yohanes Budisuyanta. The departure of every brother seem to leave us with many questions. Why would a fellow brother who was contributing so much for so many suddenly take leave of us? Why would a person who meant so much for so many depart in this way? Such is the case with the unfortunate death of Bro. Yohanes Budisuyanta.

As GC, we are saddened by this loss and wish to express our sincere condolence to the Provincial Council and our fellow brothers in Indonesia. It is difficult to understand the ways of God. As people of faith, let us take consolation in what the book of Wisdom said: The souls of the virtuous are in the hands of God, no torment shall ever touch them. In the eyes of the unwise, they appear to die, their going look like a disaster, their leaving us like annihilation; but they are in peace. (Wis. 3: 1-2) The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." (Job 1:21).

On behalf of the GC, I extend the same condolence to the family of the late Bro. Yohanes Budisuyanta, his past students and those he worked with in Indonesia. May God grant his soul eternal rest and let perpetual light shine on his soul.
