F.I.C.ST. LOUIS EDUCATIONAL COMPLEX

Date: 22nd January, 2021. WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS OF FIC ST. LOUIS EDUCATIONAL COMPLEX-WA

The Management of the school in it management meeting on 5th January 2021 saw the need to organize

a series of workshops on the following areas:

Classroom Management
Filling of Continuous Assessment Booklets
Filling and closing of Attendance Registers for pupils and students Filling of Cumulative Records Cards
Setting of examination Questions.
Preparing of weekly scheme of work and lesson notes

After the long period of lockdown of schools to control the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the country, the school was reopened on 17th January, 2021 for both continuing and fresh pupils/students. It was necessary for the school’s Management Team to organize a capacity building workshop for its teachers in order to re-awaken their skills in the teaching profession. It was in this light that the financial and human resources support of the Provincial Council of the Brothers FIC, Ghana Province came in timely with Br.Dr.Clement Naapiir (Vice Provincial Superior of the Brothers FIC) as the sole organizer of the workshop to revive the hibernating school through In-Service Training in the areas listed above.

On 22nd January, 2021, the school sponsored by the FIC Provincial Council, had a capacity building workshop on the theme: ‘’Classroom Management’’ which was facilitated by Bro. Godwin S. Kuu-Ireme in the first session. The second and the third session covered the areas such as: filling and closing of Attendance Register and Setting of examination Questions. Br. Fabian P. Kuupille was the facilitator of this session. Thirty participants attended this workshop.

The workshop was concluded with an open forum, discussion of the school activities of the first term of 2020/2021 academic year. In general, the impression portrayed by the teachers was very positive as observed from their contributions. It is believed that the fruits of the workshop will facilitate participants’ efficiency and effectiveness in the discharge of their duties.

However, the outstanding workshop on the areas not covered, has been scheduled to take place on Thursday, 28th January 2021.
