BROTHERS FIC GHANA PROVINCE, 3RD SESSION OF THE 7TH PROVINCIAL CHAPTER THEME: “DEEPENING OUR RELIGIOUS IDENTITY AS BROTHERS FIC IN THE 21ST CENTURY”‘ DAILY REPORT FOR THURSDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER, 2024. The afternoon session of the preceding day set the tone for what was going to take place the next morning. The day commenced with the usual morning prayers at 7:00am at the St Louis Conference Hall. After the morning devotion, delegates gathered at ISTC dining hall for breakfast. At 8:30 am delegates converged at the conference hall to start the election of the PS and his four councilors. Election of new Provincial Superior and four councilors The Provincial Superior was elected with simple majority plus one. Next the other four councilors followed. In each of the positions, fresh ballots were cast with simple majority plus one to determine the winner as the elected councilor. When the Provincial Superior and the four councilors were obtained, the team declared their availability to serve in the leadership team for the period 21st November, 2024 to 21st November, 2030. Drawing inspiration from Congregational Statute Article 44, the newly elected councilors gathered in the St Louis chapel for the brief reflection that allowed them to nominate the Vice Provincial Superior to be voted for or otherwise by the chapter delegates. At this point, the outgoing Provincial Superior wrote to convey the outcome of the election to the General Council and to seek the approbation of the newly elected Provincial Superior. This is in accord with our constitutions. The General Superior response confirmed the results of the chapter and affirmed the elected brothers to serve in the provincial council of Ghana province for the period 2024 to 2030. The transitional period was determined and voted upon. In the same vein, all the twenty three proposals and five recommendation were succinctly discussed and voted upon. When the General Superior endorsed the team to lead the province, the outgoing Provincial Superior relinquished his seat as president of the chapter to the new Provincial Superior to proceed with proceedings. The new Provincial Superior read a speech acknowledging and affirming the various contributions that aided the smooth proceedings drawing the curtains to a close at 1:10 pm.
