CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP FOR WORKERS OF FIC PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS IN GHANA.

CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP FOR WORKERS OF FIC PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS IN GHANA.

13TH MARCH, 2021

AT THE IN-SERVICE TRAINING CENTRE, WA.

The management and staff of FIC St. Louis Educacational Complex, Wa, FIC Jubilee School school, Nandom, Louis Rutten Senior High School, Sombo, Wa; In-Service Training Centre, Wa, PEPS-C PEPS-COM, Wa had a remarkable opportunity to come together for capacity building workshop organised by the Provincial Council of the Brothers FIC after a long period of lockdown of schools and other institutions to control the spread of the Corona Virus Disease in Ghana.

The convener of the workshop, Br. Clement Naapire Ph.D, on behalf of the PC, welcomed all the participants to the workshop. He further stressed that the impact of the corona virus on the human and material resources of educational and non-educational projects was so telling that it became essential for managements of these projects to train and retrain their workers to be abreast with the dynamics of education and project management in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it was obvious that the managements of the above projects alone would not be able to cater for the cost of training their staff without external support.

As a result, the Provincial Council of the Brothers FIC, Ghana Province came in timely to absorb the cost dimension of the human resource training of the workers of the aforementioned projects in the province. In consultation with the management of the various institutions, the following areas were considered needful: Managing Conflicts at Work Places, The Spirituality and Work Attitude of the FIC, Child Protection and Care for the Environment. The topics were respectively facilitated by Rev. Fr. Clement Aapengnuo Ph.D, Br. Isidore Aabeisie, FIC, Br. Irenius Nimbare, FIC and Br Godwin S. Kuu-Ireme, FIC.

The workshop which began at 9:30am ended at 4:00pm with an open forum. The participants asked very intriguing questions. In general, the impression created by the participants was very positive as observed from their contributions and expressions. Like Oliver Twist, the participants called for more of such workshops for their capacity building. It is hoped that the fruits of the workshop will facilitate participants’ efficiency and effectiveness in the discharge of their duties.
