A BRIEF REPORT OF THE PROVINCIAL CONFERENCE ON 22ND FEBRUARY 2016.

Dear Brothers and Friends,

We bring to you the report of the second day of our Provincial Conference which was officially opened yesterday. The day began with thanks giving to God through the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. With the rest of the morning “rituals” observed, the delegates assembled in the conference hall at 8.30 to begin with the main item on the agenda thus “Presentation of the Provincial Council’s report”. The Provincial Superior once more welcomed members and officially presented the PC report to the delegates covering the three year period they have been in office. The report took into consideration the Chapter resolutions of 2012, how they have been implemented, the successes, and the challenges so far experienced.

After the presentation delegates were given the opportunity to make general remarks and observations of the report and how they have seen the whole report in the period under review. This was done after which the house unanimously accepted the report of the PC as a working document for the stated period, thanking and complementing the PC for the work so far done

Delegates were then put into three groups of fives to discuss in detail the report. The essence of this exercise was to give the opportunity to each member and the groups to look at the report in a brotherly atmosphere and critically examine to see whether or not they have carried out their mandate in implementing the resolutions. Suggestions, the way forward can be offered to the Provincial Council to support them in carrying out their assignment.

As will be expected it is not an exercise of some few hours and therefore the house decided to use the rest of the morning and the afternoon sessions solely for the group discussion till 5.30 pm when all the groups brought their discussions to a close followed by the evening prayer at 6.pm. Interacting with some of the group members after the discussion one could sense that the discussions were alive and especially done in a cordial atmosphere.  

The good news from the group discussions will be unveiled tomorrow the 23rd.
