Our “community supports and inspires ……. faithful communal discernment”[1] and whenever “two or more meet in my Name, I am there among them; if two of you on earth agree to ask anything at all, it will be granted”.[2] The above statements paraphrased the central point of our morning prayer. The prayer, which was led by the liturgy committee helped us as Chapter delegates to direct our focus to the need for communal discernment, the assurance of Jesus’ presence in His own assembly and to further deepen our religious identity as Brothers FIC just as the Chapter theme stated. The prayer service was not only soul inspiring but a refreshing moment that the Lord was with us in the Chapter proceedings. During this session, we also prayed for Br. Godfrey Naa Tampah whose birth anniversary fell today. At 8:30am, Delegates, Functionaries and our abled facilitator convened in the St. Louis Conference Hall to continue with the discussion of chapter proposals. Mindful of the fact that we cannot achieve much without the support of God, the liturgy committee led us through an opening prayer to seek for God’s presence. Discussion on each proposal tabled was duly done. There were few proposals that needed rewording thus, the Proposal Committee was charged to refine them. There were also other proposals that needed to be rephrased as recommendations to the incoming Provincial Council. This exercise took the House up to 12:15pm when the house paused its proceedings for lunch. The House resumed at 3:30pm to continue with the deliberation. The afternoon session was opened with a prayer. Proposals such as Vocation Promotion was given a very keen attention during the discussion. In sum, straw voting was conducted on every proposal that was satisfactorily discussed. Having exhausted the proposals, the House closed the discussion to pave way for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist scheduled at 6:00pm. Write-up by Clovis Baaka 23rd April, 2024 |
