AN INTRODUCTORY REMARK TO THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF MGR. L.H. RUTTEN.

Some years ago the autobiography of Mgr. Rutten was published as supplements to "News from the Generalate".

After that we were asked by several brothers to publish it as one booklet. Herewith we gladly comply with this request.

The text we give here is not written in the exact vocabulary used by Mgr. Rutten. As a matter of fact he had great difficulties with the Dutch language when talking as well as when writing. He managed to abuse it a great deal. He mainly used the Maastricht dialect or French in everyday speech. Therefore we thought we had better adapt his text to present-day Dutch, as well as possible which makes reading much easier.

The text is practically the same as the one published earlier as supplements. We only rectified some inaccuracies and here and there a word or a sentence was translated differently.
