Orientation visit to Chile 2014.
To the Provincial Councils of Ghana, Indonesia and Malawi
Dear Brothers,
Re: Orientation visit to Chile 2014
Well-wishes and greetings from Maastricht. We hope this letter will find you in a good shape.
First of all we would like to express gratitude for your reactions to our letter of 1st April 2014, in which we asked you to send us a list of applicants in your province for an orienta- tion visit to Chile. We are very happy that 16 brothers from Indonesia, 3 brothers from Ghana and 4 brothers from Malawi have positively responded to the request to seriously reflect on making such a visit to Chile.
Taking into account the huge number of brothers that would like to make such an orienta- tion visit and after consultation with the Provincial Council Chile, we have decided to invite the following four brothers to visit Chile in 2014: 1. Bro. Aloysius Porekuu (from Ghana), 2. Bro. Robertus Koencoro Budi S. (from Indonesia), 3. Bro. Agustinus Suparno (from Indonesia), 4. Bro. Andrew Makocho (from Malawi). The other applicants will be considered when planning for an orientation visit in 2015.
The orientation visit to Chile has been scheduled for early October until the end of December 2014. Since the two Indonesian brothers have the possibility to extend their visa with another three months, they can stay in Chile until the end of March 2015. Herewith we invite you as Provincial Council to inform the brothers in your province about the above. Further details will be communicated to you in due time.
To make the orientation visit as fruitful as possible, it should be well prepared, both by the Chile Province (in terms of accommodation, apostolic activities and other tasks) as well as by the brothers who are visiting Chile. It is very important that the brothers of the Chile Province open their heart and mind to receive their fellow-brothers from abroad. It is important that the visitors can participate in some school apostolate or pastoral work and thus get an idea of the FIC apostolic activities in Chile and also make themselves acquainted with the Chilean culture. At the end of the orientation visit the presence of each of the visitors should be evaluated well and also the possibility of being of service to the Chile Province later on should be seriously looked into.
