Dear Brothers,

It is our sad duty to announce to you the passing away of Bro.  Lucianus Tieleman on 11 July 2014 in Maastricht.
Herewith we send you the text of the mourning card, which reads as follows:


" Congregation of the Brothers of the Immaculate Conception of Mary

              "May the Holy Bernadette be my intercessor

               and guide me to the eternal land of the Father."

After a long life of skilled labor and great service to many, we have to say farewell to our dear family member, fellow brother, friend and counselor

Brother Lucianus was born on January 9, 1922 in Hontenisse (Hulst). He committed himself to the Brothers FIC on August 15, 1944. After having received the Anointment of the Sick he passed away in the Residential Care Centre De Beyart on July 11, 2014.

Lucianus joined our Congregation when he was already practicing the profession of accountant. He was commissioned to lead the Congregational Education Office and was a consultant to school boards and educational organizations. He also demonstrated to be a good counselor for many in the financial field. Internationally, he devoted himself to the Ecumenical Peace Movement IFOR. From 1985 to 1988 he was General Treasurer of the FIC Congregation.

From 2012 onward his hearing, but especially his eyesight worsened considerably. That did not prevent him to still travel on his own. In 2012 he moved to De Beyart, where during the past three months his health condition deteriorated. Just before celebrating his 70 year profession jubilee he died in perfect peace.

We say goodbye to brother Lucianus in the Eucharistic Celebration on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at 14.30 pm in the chapel of the Beyart. Afterwards he will be laid to rest at our FIC graveyard near the Anjoulaan in Maastricht.

The evening's Vigil will take place on Tuesday, July 15th at 17:30 in the chapel of De Beyart.
