Decease Brother Ferrie Kompier.

Dear Brothers,
It is our sad duty to inform you about the passing away of Bro. Ferrie Kompier on 20 July 2015.
The text of the mourning card reads as follows:
"Congregation of the Brothers of the Immaculate Conception of Mary
'The words that I have written, have already gone away here and there.
But do not worry, I can handle it.
My words will have no problem to remain standing.'  (Ferrie Kompier)
With feelings of sadness and gratitude we announce to you that our dear brother and uncle and dear confrere has left us.
Brother Ferrie Kompier FIC
Ferdinand Frederik
He was born on February 26, 1937 in Amsterdam. At his profession in the Congregation of the Brothers FIC on August 15, 1957 he took the religious name Monald. He died on July 20, 2015 at De Beyart in Maastricht, after having received the Anointing of the Sick.
Ferrie was a gifted teacher. For 42 years he has been standing in front of the class, the majority of which in the Henricus School in Amsterdam. When Ferrie read stories from his own books, the children were very interested. A special quality of him was his language art, which he made a good use of in writing books and teaching methods. He played with language and knew in his many poems to express his feelings in a creative way.
In 2007, the disease Alzheimer was diagnosed. This grew into more and more severe forms for which he needed intensive care. For that reason he moved from Halfweg to the care unit of De Beyart. We are grateful for the good care he was allowed to receive at De Beyart.
We say goodbye to Ferrie during the Eucharistic celebration to be held on Friday, July 24 in the chapel of De Beyart, starting at 14:30. Around 15:30 he will be put to rest at our cemetery near the Anjoulaan in Maastricht.
The evening vigil will take place on Thursday, July 23 at 17:30 in the chapel of De Beyart.
