REPORTS FROM OUR FAMILY FEAST CELEBRATIONS, GHANA PROVINCE.

Ghana Province, on Thursday, the 21st of November, 2019 marked her family feast in a grand style under the theme: “Gratitude to God for his Loving Care”. It was a daylong celebration characterized by series of events, culminating into a Eucharistic Celebration. It was also a day to honor individual brothers who marked distinguished milestones in their religious life. We celebrated brothers Seregeous Dery, Lambert Dorsana Batogbee and Isidore Aabeisie for turning silver and Brother Alexis Beleire who turned gold.

The official opening of the family feast took place in the context of a recollection organized by the liturgy committee under the theme, “Protecting Our Heritage.”  The theme provoked a deeper reflection on our roots (humble beginnings) and also highlighted the strides we have made in championing and advancing the vision of our founders. Brothers made very thought-provoking inputs during the sharing and the spiritual enrichment received thereof was enough to set the pace for the rest of the day’s activities.

From the recollection we moved straight into a family meeting and some of the issues for discussion ranged from presentation of the 2020 budget to health issues and concerns. The provincial council also seized the opportunity to keep brothers posted on general happenings in the province and some developmental initiatives that the council intends to undertake.

After hours of fraternal and mutual deliberations, brothers had lunch and observed a few minutes of siesta before engaging in what could be described as an entertaining volleyball match. Brothers in the southern belt of Ghana locked horns with those in the Northern Belt and the game was a sight to behold. The game wasn’t only meant to produce winners and losers but it afforded brothers the opportunity to exercise and burn some fats and calories.

In the evening we had a Eucharistic Celebration in which we thanked God for all the favors and blessings bestowed on us throughout the year under review and implored his unfailing mercies in the ensuing year. The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by the Vicar General.

From the Chapel we proceeded to the forecourts of ISTC to crown the day with merrymaking. Deserving brothers were presented with gifts for their outstanding contributions. Brothers were also treated to a very good local music and dance.

In summary, the day was well marked and we remember in particular our brother jubilerians for their sense of perseverance in service to God and humanity. We say bravo!
