Dear Brothers,

 It is our sad duty to inform you about the passing away of Bro. Ton Postma on 20 July 2015.

The text of the mourning card reads as follows:

"Congregation of the Brothers of the Immaculate Conception of Mary

      ‘May the Lord bless you and keep you!

Brother Ton Postma FIC

Antonius Henricus Franciscus Maria

Ton was born in Amsterdam on June 10, 1925. He made his profession in the Congregation of the Brothers FIC on August 15, 1946 and took the religious name Servulus. He passed away at De Beyart on July 20, 2015.

Recently Ton celebrated his ninetieth birthday. He himself thought it was a major achievement "that with such a shaky body he was still allowed to become that old".

Despite his physical handicaps Ton remained a cheerful man, who kept a fresh look at developments in Church, Congregation and society.

His pupils from primary schools in Maastricht, Wyck and Nijmegen, just like the boys of the VGLO-school in Wyck and Haarlem, had a good teacher in him.

Ton was a man with a broad interest to anyone who crossed his path; he was a pleasant and good person, a fine family member and fellow-brother.

We say goodbye to Ton during the Eucharistic celebration on Monday, July 27 in the chapel of De Beyart, Brusselsestraat 38, Maastricht, starting at 14:30. After that he will be buried at our monastery cemetery near the Anjoulaan in Maastricht.

The evening vigil will take place on Thursday, July 23, starting at 17:30 in the chapel of De Beyart.
